“The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, and deserted by everybody.”

Saint Teresa

PRIP Bill Boyd recalled Saint Teresa's words when addressing the International Assembly in San Diego on ‘What makes us unique’, March 20 2017.  He discussed the fact that international branding agency Siegel and Gale did a research study on major service and humanitarian organisations and certified Rotary as ‘unique’; the four main reasons that contributed to this uniqueness were:

 * Our diversity, which ensures we think differently
 * Our focus on leadership, leveraging members' management skills
 * Our passion and perseverance - as can be seen in Rotary's focused effort to eliminate polio
 * The sharing of resources making it possible to engage in Community Service on a global scale.
