Saifoo Lau
Saifoo is a professional Realtor specializing in the sales and marketing of homes in the GTA. He comes to real estate after a successful career in banking in China, Hong Kong and Macau. Saifoo's expertise is in assisting first time buyers to own their own condos, as well as helping seniors to sell their homes and move into Life Lease Condos.
Saifoo has received numerous awards in recognition of his exemplary performance on behalf of clients. He has been named Homelife Top Producer and has also won the Gold award, Ontario Emerald Award, Who's Who Award, as well as the Community Service Awards.
Saifoo is a native of Hong Kong; he emigrated to Canada in 1990 and is the married father of twins, both of whom have since graduated from the University of Waterloo. Because of his involvement in the activities and education of his children, Saifoo has an acute awareness of the needs and wants of families. He knows the schools, the neighborhoods, the services and benefits available in each community and is a valuable resource for both those new to the area as well as to those who are looking to change neighborhoods.
Saifoo is one of the newer members of our Club and as such he brings a fresh, valuable perspective to Rotary. We asked him "how can we better serve the local community? What specific actions would you recommend?"
"I think we can better serve the local community by becoming actively involved in community activities that promote Rotary membership, connect with neighborhood associations sponsoring events, offer informational programs at libraries for residents and invite representatives from local corporations to join our Club. Specific actions can include visiting senior homes, schools and community associations to let kids and families know that we care. Currently in my real estate activities, I arrange my time to volunteer as follows:
- sponsor and support the Scarborough Rosewood Food Drive
- help at the Yee Hong Garden Seniors bi-weekly brunch fun programs
- participate in seniors satisfaction surveys at senior apartments
- offer information sessions for seniors at the Toronto Public Libraries
- train seniors to use tablets/ipads"
