Treasurer of the district
President of SCRO (Scarborough Community Renewal organization)
SCRO’s creation was spearheaded by our own Dave Hardy
- Vision: To foster a strong & progressive Scarborough within the city of Toronto
- Mission: Collaborative action & advisory focus
- Values: Engagement & Collaboration
Organizes & runs Scarborough Walk of Fame, which was started in 2006 after SARS and the related lingering anxiety to celebrate great local people
- Scro took over in 2022 & next one is April 15, 2026.
SCRO’s current activities:
- Community consultation & leaders circle re: the plan for Scarborough within Toronto
- Advocate for Federal Election Boundaries
- Organized & ran Mayoral by-election debate in May 2023 including getting live TV coverage
- Campaigning to Preserve Employment lands (vs. Residential)
- Connecting Scarborough organizations to work together.
Current Priorities
- Public transit
  - Express busways
  - Eglinton east LRT
  - Sheppard Subway extension
- Scarborough Skyway linear Park
- Economic development in Scarborough …strategies to preserve employment lands
- Build “complete” communities
