  • Treasurer of the district
  • President of SCRO (Scarborough Community Renewal organization)
  • SCRO’s creation was spearheaded by our own Dave Hardy
    • Vision: To foster a strong & progressive Scarborough within the city of Toronto
    • Mission: Collaborative action & advisory focus
    • Values: Engagement & Collaboration
  • Organizes & runs Scarborough Walk of Fame, which was started in 2006 after SARS and the related lingering anxiety to celebrate great local people
    • Scro took over in 2022 & next one is April 15, 2026.
  • SCRO’s current activities:
    • Community consultation & leaders circle re: the plan for Scarborough within Toronto
    • Advocate for Federal Election Boundaries
    • Organized & ran Mayoral by-election debate in May 2023 including getting live TV coverage
    • Campaigning to Preserve Employment lands (vs. Residential)
    • Connecting Scarborough organizations to work together.
  • Current Priorities
    • Public transit
      • Express busways
      • Eglinton east LRT
      • Sheppard Subway extension
    • Scarborough Skyway linear Park
    • Economic development in Scarborough …strategies to preserve employment lands
    • Build “complete” communities

  1. Gerd donated $50k through his fundraising efforts and let us know that he is cancer free and feeling good.

  2. Roco advised there will be a club services meeting next Monday
