President Barry – Gave an introduction with toast (not bread). Polled members about meeting times. 7:30 was seen to be a better time.


Rocco - Club Service Committee - Talked about the importance of meeting at members homes each month. POD system is working quite well. Rocco described POD responsibilities. Last person to person meeting was March 12th. Charter Party and Fireside have been put on hold. Rocco hope that Group meetings would continue. Basil will give Baton Rouge a call them a call and fill Club members in. Gerd proposed selling gift certificates to help them with cash flow. Members stated they were not open.

Steve Zelinski funds may be dedicated to another Scholarship but this item should be forwarded to next year. Students will be off to University in December in terms of moving the dinner to another time. Frank pointed out that the money would be put to good use and supported by Steve’s family for pandemic needs. Family doesn’t really mind where it goes. Arthur will review with Committee. Danny gave an update about the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Basil suggested that Danny still send out a request for funds from members. Peter Masson also pointed out the need to consider the Rotary Foundation for International needs.

$4,100 was donated to Precious Blood School. Park Property donated $30,600 Champ Engineering donated $8,000 and individuals donated $2,200 other funds raised came to $5,200. We raised $ 81,450 this year and have net proceeds of 52,000. Thank you, letters have been, sent out to donors.

3) New items approved by Committee and request for supplementary funding:
- Rotary Youth Leadership Day – Toronto Argonauts (Chris Hawke) – We approved it last year and sent one student. It is later on in the year and depends on how well covid 19 is contained.
- Handicapped access – Spinal Cord Injury, Ontario (Nouma Hammash) – This organization would like to help a person with spinal cord injury handicapped access to his residence - $500
- Rosewood Food Bank (Courtney) – to cater to the increased demand because of the corona virus outbreak and layoffs. Augment the earlier funding by an additional - $1000
- Agincourt Community Services (Lee Soda) – increased demand because of the current events. Augment the earlier funding by an additional - $2000
- East Scarborough Storefront (Nadia Heyd) - increased demand because of the current events. Augment the earlier funding by an additional - $2000
- Chinese Community Services (Anna Wong) - increased demand because o the current events. Augment the earlier funding by an additional - $2000
- SHN Foundation – $7000 (The money has been sent)
- Paul Harris Scholarship funding plus organizing expenses –Peter Masson will submit request as soon as determined.
Awarding of Steve Zelinski dedicated scholarship will be addressed by Peter Masson.

Maddy Chandrasekaran – Foundation - No requests for application for grants to date. Two members need to be qualified to get District support. David Seemungal will take the training. Arthur asked for more support for the Warm Hands Project.


After the presentations, Barry asked for questions from the membership by the raising of virtual hands, which questions would be fielded by the Chair and then answered by the relevant presenters.

- Peter. Books that we are re-reading – such as the Joy of Cooking
- Peter. Meetings with investment advisor and are we reading Arthur’s science updates
- Arthur’s sister’s daughter came down with Covid 19. All of her family got Covid 19 but they got through it. He has a park that he views from the 6th floor and saw a racoon that didn’t give a damn.
- Danny Australia and New Zealand by cruise. Cruise was shut down under the wire.
- Alan also dodged a bullet. Also, Joan Manuel – couldn’t get back from Australia from New Zealand.
- Gerd stated he is much more aware of the little things, such as observing the first robin building a nest. Great meeting with Tony in Florida.
- Frank now has a great grandchild.
- Tony had a new granddaughter. She was sick and the Reno Children’s Hospital did platelet transfusions that worked as the miracle of medicine.
- Maddy re-connected with Anna Maria Korel. Asked if we can invite guests to the Zoom meetings? Barry said yes as it is what we would do as part of the regular meeting.
President Barry then concluded with a thank you to all presenters and attendees, and announced next weekly program content – speaker is Chris Hawk, Argo Rotary Youth Leadership Day that we donated to in the past. Arthur said that the Zoo, named the wombat after him.
Danny to host the Group meeting on the 13th.
