Announcements:
-Directors' meeting to be held at Gordon Brown's home Sept 30th, 7:30 pm
-Basil reminded us of the October 4th networking gathering at the Scarboro Golf Club at 6:00 pm. This is an opportunity for all 6 Rotary clubs in Scarborough to come together (with spouses and other guests) to further the work of Rotary in this community and beyond. Please respond to the invitation that was sent out via Club Runner to indicate your attendance or not.

Program:
Basil Dias introduced Arthur Retnakaran, as one of our newest members to give his Classification talk. Unless you had aced your biology course in high school, microbiology course in university and gone on to graduate school to study genetic engineering you would be pardoned if you lost your way during Arthur's travels around the world from his birthplace in India (the same as our guest Rotarian Paskaran) to Soo Saint Marie, and finally to Toronto where he is closer to his grown family. I would not due justice to his talk if I tried to summarize it here. The whole intro & presentation can be found at the second link.
