Announcements:
Gerd - demonstrated to us the Square Payment Processing Credit Card Reader, we can now use our credit card to pay for meals, make donations etc... Works well and very economical to use.
Jacob - a Concert is scheduled for Sat. June 3 at the Scarborough Citadel Warden & Lawrence, more detail to come.
Donna - there is a group meeting after the Rotary meeting.
President Basil:
- We are having a Pub Night at the Couch House 3 Felcher Blvd. downtown Ballantrae 6:30 to 9:30. We ask to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food for a local food bank.
- As you are no doubt aware, out last TV Auction was out last TV Auction with Rogers. They are no longer interested in continuing with that type of community programming. Kevin Manuel is organizing a meeting for March 8th or 9th with all participating Clubs to examine other auction options. It would indeed be helpful if several of our interested Club members attended to chart our course going forward.
- Our annual Fireside is scheduled for Friday April 21st at the Highland Yacht Club. This is an opportunity to give guidance to our incoming President Mike regarding programs we wish to continue, projects we should give a 2nd look at, and of course ideas for a major fund raiser. We hope that all members will attend this important club activity, and bring out partners, significant others, spouses and friends. The cost is minimal for food, and the cash bar is reasonable.
Marbelous Draw: Donna conducted the draw, the lucky ticket drawn belonged to Alan Meredith but he couldn't find the mutant marble, maybe another time Alan.
S@A Jacob - Jacob was very good to us and only asked for happy bucks, everyone was very happy to enjoy such a mild temperature for March 1st.
Program: Director Reports.
Basil introduced the directors starting with Gordon Brown, Director of Club Service.

The POD is generally working quite well. At the Board meeting in January we were asked to discuss the POD at our next Group Meeting to see if we could find an alternative. We did discuss this, but could not come up with an alternative. We do not believe it is fair for the duties to be shared by just three or four people – it should be done by as many members as possible. If any of our members have any ideas about this then please let us know. We have to emphasize that whoever is the S@A for the meeting is responsible for the setting up and taking down of everything for that particular meeting. There is a schedule for the Sergeant at Arms and a copy is posted inside the box. Also if you are scheduled to do the reporting (Rotateller) then please make sure if you are not going to be at the meeting arrange for someone else to do it for you. To hear the rest of Gordon's reports please follow the recording link at the bottom.
Basil then called Donna Salamalay director of Community, Youth & Vocational Services.

Donna gave a report on all the ongoing programs, Vocational and Community programs, are the main focuses. Please follow the recording link to hears her very interesting report.
Basil then called up Gerd Wengler to give us the update on International programs.
Gerd stepped in to look after International Services replacing Dhanni Ramdeen.
Gerd recently visited a water truck project our Club did in the Bahamas and all is going well. Many projects are ongoing internationally and always in the lookout for any other worthy ones. Please follow the recording to hear Gerd's full report.

The Rotary Foundation.
