Sergeant at Arms: Charles Whitney
Charles promised to not be as mercenary as was Joan Manuel last week who almost filled the treasury with her quiz on matters Rotary.
Instead, Charles fined anyone who was NOT attending the BBQ on Friday. Among those that were fined was Jim Boyko stating that he could not attend because one of his clients had invited him to his Yacht in Portland Maine!

Happy Bucks:
Carolyn and Art donated as they had a new grandchild born yesterday (8 lb 1 oz, number 6 –all boys).
Gerd had a bad car accident having rear-ended someone on the 401 doing about 80 kmph. His Jeep was a write-off (which had almost 800,000 kms on it). Fortunately Gerd only suffered a few bruises. He now has a Range Rover which apparently he has dreamed of owning since he was 10!
Dhanni contributed as she was happy her patio stones have now all been laid and that her hands are b eginning to heal.
Our guest Anupam donated as his father is a Rotarian and was recently awarded the ‘Service Above Self' Award.

Speaker:
President Rocco introduced our member Frank Allison who gave us a presentation on his African Safari. Unfortunately Frank has had some computer problems and has ‘lost’ a lot of the photos he took, However the photos he was able to show us were very ‘spectacular’ of the African people, wildlife, birds and flowers.   Frank and Bette were very impressed by the wildlife and also the fact that all the people there looked healthy and they did not see anyone that looked overweight. He told us there were a few scary moments – one when they were in a small boat and some hippos were not too far away and another when they were surrounded by elephants but once the elephants realized the tourists were not a threat they went on their way without incident. Frank suggested that this trip is one that should be on everyone’s bucket list.

A recording of the presentation will be sent separately.
President Rocco thanked Frank for his presentation and presented him with one of the club’s 50th anniversary scotch glasses.

There being no further business President Rocco closed the meeting.
