-Remember the date of the District 7070 Foundation “Walk the Talk” Sunday September 23 in Bowmanville. Registration with coffee and muffins at 9:00 am
(See last week’s R-T for further details).
-Charles Whitney shared a letter that he had received from Al McDougall. It said, in part:
"I consider (honorary membership in the Club) a great honour, to allow me to be associated with the (Club) even though I can no longer offer active support.
"I would be grateful if you would extend my thanks to the members, along with my wishes for the continued success of the Club, in all it's endeavours."
MARBELOUS DRAW:
It was Joan Manuel who again had the winning ticket. But this time she only receied $5 and our generous S @ A Allan let her keep it.
SERGEANT AT ARMS:
This time Allan dug into many pockets because only he and Joan Manuel have so far submitted donations for the TV auction. All others were required to pitch in a tooney.
PAUL HARRIS FELLOW AWARD:
While he was with us to-day, District Governor Ted was asked to present a PH Award to Past President Charles Whitney. (Photo attached)
PROGRAM:
District Governor Ted was introduced by our ADG Gord Bennett. Ted and his home club, Richmond Hill, will be hosting the District Conference Oct 19-21.
His presentation was accompanied by a Power Point presentation but his message (the real one) was sent along to all the club members. Unfortunately, another recording was first sent but that was corrected by a second e-mail (the real one).
Basil Dias thanked Governor Ted and presented him with a certificate from Operation Eyesight International.
