Announcements:
Rocco assured everyone that there was nothing wrong with their vision, conducting the meeting was not Jacob Lakirovic he was only filling in for Jacob on his absence, he refused to speak Russian, (may be some Italian ok)
-Basil announced that the Scarborough Rotary Club's Ribfest is Friday August 3 to Monday August 6, 2012. As a gesture of Rotarian fellowship, he is looking for volunteers to offer to help that club with their Ribfest. Kindly respond if you are able to help, indicating whether or not you have a smart serve certificate. Thanks for your consideration, respond by e-mail or register on the website.
-Rocco reminded all that the next group 1 meeting is next Monday July 16, 7:30 at Carolyn Nicholson.
Marbelous Draw - Charles Whitney conducted the draw with the help of Dayna Seemungal, the lucky ticket belonging to Gordon Brown was pulled, everyone present expressed their sincere dismay when Gordon didn’t find the mutant marble and had to settle for the $5 second price.
Sergeant At Arms – Gordon Brown fined all who didn’t know where the Summer Olympics will be held? Oh not where is it this year, where is it in 4 years? ok Gordon! Where? Of course he told us,
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Happy Bucks: - Gordon asked for happy $s, himself was glad the air condition got fixed.
-Gerd is now a proud owner of a “Beer Draft Machine”, isn’t that great, make draft beer in your own house.
-Emmanuel happy his son and daughter were able to join him today.
-David Seemungal happy Dayna was with us.
PROGRAM:
- Rocco Colangelo introduced our Guest Speaker Tabatha Bowers from the Scarborough Hospital, to speak to us on Eldercare: “Planning your Geriatric Future”
The details of Tabatha’s interesting presentation will be provided via a voice MP3 file separately, please listen to it.
- David Hardy thanked Tabatha for speaking to our club today and presented her with an operation eyesight certificate that the eyesight of an individual in a third world country has been restored on her behalf for speaking to us today.
Next week president Jacob will disclose his plans for the coming year ahead, let’s us all come out and show him our support.
